The next CABOMA jam, on November 13, will be dedicated to our departed friend, Dewayne Thompson. Dewayne was a CABOMA member since around 1977. There are so many things we will miss about him: his encouragement and enthusiasm; his joy in bluegrass and traditional country; love of Hank Williams, Mac Wiseman and the Carter Family; long musical memory; robust singing voice and guitar playing; and a repertoire of hundreds of songs, at least.
We’ll have a memorial of remembrances and songs which will be led by Fred Nelson starting around 2pm. (Doors will be open from 1:30 on.) The usual jam will commence afterward at 3.
