CABOMA just held its first jam of 2020 focusing on old-time music. Ten or so fiddlers and pickers gathered in a newly designated space Jan. 12 to play Arkansas Traveler, Julianne Johnson, Possum on a Rail, Seneca Square Dance, and at least a dozen other tunes.
Thanks to Stephen Barkley (banjo) and Connor Laughlin (fiddle) for organizing this addition to CABOMA’s regular gathering of musicians. The addition recognizes the diverse playing styles and interests within CABOMA.
CABOMA meets 2 p.m.6 p.m. every second and fourth Sunday of the month at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington, 4444 Arlington Blvd., 22204.
The church has kindly provided us with enough rooms for bluegrass and old-time jams, including a slow jam 2 p.m.– 3 p.m. Musicians of all levels welcome. See you Jan. 26.
